X360’s 65nm Chips Hit Retail This Fall; in Production Two Months

360_cpu.jpgEveryone is really scared of the RLODs and who wouldn’t be? To all those that have been waiting for the new and improved 360’s with 65nm chips shouldn’t have to wait much longer. Microsoft’s manufacturing partner, Charted Semiconductor, said that these chips have been in production over the last two months. This puts their retail date for fall. The 65nm chips allow for cooler chips and consequently faster ones. Charted Semiconductor also mentioned 45nm chips will also be heading to 360’s. Just in case anyone is having any really wise ideas about waiting for the 45 nm chips, they are heading for late 2008 to early 2009. Just stick with the 65nm for now.
