Rotpod Game of the Year

We have named all of the GOTY winners of each platform and genre, and now it is time to choose which of this year’s titles has outdone every other. The honor of Rotpod Game of the Year is not given out lightly, and a lot of thought goes into the process. These nominees are all winners of some of the various other Rotpod GOTYs:rotpodgoty2007badge.jpg

  • Super Mario Galaxy
  • Portal
  • Bioshock
  • Uncharted: Drakes Fortune
  • Mass Effect
  • Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
  • Halo 3
  • World in Conflict
  • Rock Band

As you can probably tell, this was not easy. Oh no, this was pretty tough actually. It took us a long while but eventually we came up with a winner. So without further ‘ado, the winner of Rotpod’s Game of the Year Award is…

Bioshock [Xbox 360/PC | Irrational Games/2k Games]

This Xbox 360 and PC shooter took the genre to a new place by mixing in RPG elements and a free roaming aspect and throwing it all into a world that completely immerses the gamer. The originality of this title, coupled with its unique style make it our choice for this years GOTY.

The runners up for GOTY were Mass Effect and Halo 3, which were only barely beaten out by Bioshock. There you have it folks, our picks for 2007’s GOTYs in every category. Hope you had a good 12 months of gaming, and Happy New Year!
