After a listing for an Xbox 360 version of Metal Gear Solid 4 became available for pre-order on UK retailler HMV’s website, the gaming world went crazy with speculation. Knowing that they had created a monster, HMV made a statement today to Gameindusty.biz stating that the listing was put up in error. They stated,
In his enthusiasm, one of our online games team indicated that hmv.co.uk would start taking pre-orders for MGS4 on Xbox 360, when, in fact, he simply meant to ask customers if they wished to receive an alert in the event of this title one day coming out on this platform
So it was all a great big misunderstanding. But where did that September 26th release date come from? We may never know… >_<

Hate to say this but.. told ya so =\.. I mean about HMV having inside information.. The possibility of MGS4 coming to the 360 is always possible, I hope it does because I’ve heard the other past MGS games were great..
Metal Gear Solid is one helluva series and one that truely captures a ‘movie’ experiance with you in total control of all actions. You can choose not to kill anyone, Metal Gear Solid 3 has a sequence in which you must walk past every single Human, and animal that you killed.
I must say I am dissapointed there is no PsP-PS3 link up, I must be frank and say it is the only reason to get a PS3 at this point (Final Fantasy and God of war 2 will of course be huge…in 2009), but as is the case Many people have waited a long time for this Series to come to a close and I’m sure we will not mind waiting a few months more for 360, which is better off then people buying it years later used on thier new PS3.
If more People can experiance this Series and it’s choices and human views of love, war, life, the future and the errors of our past, WMD’s, Cloaning, and more then I could even truely begin to discribe now, The better the world will be off.
