Gaming: In This Week-2/10/07

gaming:2_17_07The second week in February was a pretty sad week in gaming, with things like the Truth in Video Games Act trying to be repassed by the evil Senator Brownback. This act would force the ESRB to play through the entire game before giving it a rating and this could possibily inhibit any MMORPG’s from being made because they don’t have any real means to an end(no you level 70’s aren’t done with the game). On another sad note, Jack Thompson may have been happy when on Tuesday, Take-Two CEO and co-founder of the Grand Theft Auto series pleaded guilty to falsifying business records. However, Lucas Arts annouced a new game, The Force Unleashed, in which you play as a dark-side character who is apprentice to Darth Vader. It is also rumored to branch of the Knights of the Old Republic storyline. The week did get better with news like this and also with the news that Clover, the studio that made Okami, creating their own independent studio. And democracy prevails on the Wii, with a new Wii channel called Wii Vote, which allows Wii users to vote in topics of the day.

PS -Bungie did annouce an “Asshole” button for Halo 3 on their weekly update
