If you are still jonesing for a copy of BioShock and Toys R’ Us is no longer sell it, you may be in luck. Steam and Direct2Drive, IGN’s game download service, are offering the game for pre-load and playability the second the game becomes available. So, if you want to be playing the game at 12:00 A.M. on August 21st, this would be the correct way to go. The game is $49.99, but Direct2Drive is offering a $5 gift certificate with your purchase, but with that you are also risking the chance of not getting the game because the site does say “approximately August 21st”. So, don’t say you weren’t warned if you don’t get it right away.

This news comes when there are many rumors circulating about BioShock coming out on an earlier date because of the Toys R’ Us incident and a commercial that was leaked that announces the game is already out. This was disapproved when Irrational Games(formely) announced that the game is keeping its August 21st launch date and these were just a series of coincidences. Either way, you should be excited for BioShock.
