A perplexing message was found on Konami Productions official website yesterday. The message can be seen above. There are many theories about what this message can mean, but mostly everyone is certain that there will be some sort of Metal Gear Solid released on platforms other than the PS3 or PSP. Some theories are that MGS will finally be making the move to the Xbox 360, which is both indicated by the color of the text and the power ring, which is present very prominently on the front of the Xbox 360. But, another theory is also that MGS will be releasing a mobile version for the iPhone as indicated by the ‘i’. Right now, everything is up in the air and your guess is as good as mine, but I’m going to put my money on the iPhone or mobile version. A Xbox 360 version of MGS has been rumored since MGS4 was announced years ago, but nothing has come to fruition and the evidence in this message is a little bit to coincidental (after all, that is the UNIVERSAL power symbol); however, I don’t want to rule anything out. You can hope, just don’t get too excited.

Brawl Delayed

Really, who didn’t expect something like this to happen? It all seemed to good to be true. With exciting announcements that got us all to the edges of our seats and the simple prospect of having fun with a revamped classic, Brawl truly seemed like the next game that would capture our spirits for years to come. While this still hopefully will apply to the game when it is released, it looks like the folks here in the U.S. will have to wait until Sunday, March 9 to experience Nintendo’s next hit. With this untimely delay, Brawl better contain nothing that could dampen our spirits, but brim with pure comic mayhem.

Remember when Stranglehold was announced as a simultaneous multiplatform release in early August? Obviously that didn’t happen. Remember when it was slated to be coming out for the PS3 just a few weeks after the PC and Xbox 360 versions? Well apparently that’s not happening either, as the PS3 version’s release date has just slipped into something I like to call, The Unknown Zone. In other words, the game has been delayed without being given a new ship date. Better change that Sep. 17th in your pull list to a TBA until further notice.
Update: Stranglehold will still hit the U.S. on September 17th, but the European release date has been changed to a TBA status.
Update 2: All of this delay confusion that stemmed from a dateless press release has been cleared up by Midway. It turns out that the game will be hitting for the PS3 on time in both Europe and the US. That’s right, we will see this game on September 17th for PS3. Sorry about all that.
