It seems like today’s weekly update has fixed that. The updates can be expected this month, but it should also be noted that they keep floating back towards Halo 3’s one-year anniversary. In an update called Title Update 2(basically, a patch), Bungie plans on fixing many under the hood glitches in the game as well as crack down on cheating as well as bringing the following the achievements:

PC gamers can expect a demo for the highly acclaimed UT3, but PS3 owners are out of luck. This comes from a interview with Mark Rein in EuroGamer, a European gaming mag. He said this is similar to the Gears of War situation when Microsoft wanted a demo, and Epic responded, ” …they wanted a demo for Gears of War and we said ‘you’ve got a choice – you can have the demo this year or the game this year”. Everyone that is eagerly awaiting the demo can expect it in the next 2 months because the game is set for release in November for the PC and PS3. While, the 360 version will be coming out next year. Rein also stressed that Epic is a small team and they don’t have time to waste resources on making a demo for the PS3. This also explains the hordes of develpors that Sony sent flying at Epic to help complete the game.

Everyone was really excited at E3 when mods were annouced for the PS3 version of UT III, this was also related to a for UT3 being a timed exclusive for the PS3 till 2008. Although, the game is still coming out for the 360 some reasons for this time exclusive might be surfacing along with certain frustrations that Epic is having with mods for the Xbox 360. Epic’s VP Mark Rein says,
” That’s part of the reason we announced we were shipping the game on PC and PS3 this Fall, but we don’t have a date for the Xbox 360 version – it’ll be some time after the new year. Part of that is because we haven’t been able to figure out just how we’re going to do the mods. And Microsoft’s got a very busy Christmas schedule… We just couldn’t get enough attention from them to solve that problem”, Rein said. “
Mods have always been a big part of the Unreal Tournament series, which will be included in UT3 and with these probelems could steer away hard-core Unreal fans from buying it on the X360( though most will buy it on the PC anyway, which is also scheduled for Fall). Rein posed some solutions that might have to happen with the 360’s mods such as, paid mods, a rigourous scanning process and then posted as downloadable content. This would destroy the user-managed aspect and really hurt the game. Hopefully, this will get worked out and everyone on the 360 can enjoy the great mods to come.
