UT 3 PS3 Probably Delayed Until the BIG 2008

This is a real blow to my fellow PS3 owners. Unreal Tournament 3 for the PS3 has been delayed until early 2008, while the PC version is still hitting its November release date.

Hands On with GH: 3 at Digital Life

Guitar Hero 3 may be one of the most anticipated games for this year. Well, here at Digital Life 07, we have had a chance to play the game, and so far it is not meeting my expectations. It has the same exact gameplay as the last two games, so there are no new surprises, and it really seems like more of an expansion than a whole new game. I am not going to review the game since I have not had enough time with the game, but expect more of the same-old.

DigitalLife ‘07 – Voodoo’s D-Box Motion Gaming Chair Hands-On

This may be one of the most fun items that we have tested out here at Digital Life. The D-Box Motion Gaming Chair is a racing chair that has force feedback that shakes and moves the chair as the in-game car goes on different surfaces. The movement felt very real, but the only thing wrong with the playable demo was that braking didn’t work as well as I would have like it to, and, because of this, I couldn’t feel the seat moving forward when braking. Other than that, it was a great product that I would like to have much more time with.

Here is something that will make all of you that were looking forward to this movie a little bit more disappointed. 125 pages of the Halo movie script have just been leaked. PSP is Finally Getting some Good News

There has been a lot of buzz about the PSP, especially since the new, lighter version of the portable console just came out. Well, there is something else that PSP owners can rejoice about!!! God of War: Chains of Olympia is coming out on March, 4. This may seem like a long time, but it will probably be the best game on the PSP, and it will be worth the wait. Definitely look out for this one!

Haze = Exclusive to PS3 (For Now)

There has been a lot of confusion about Free Radical’s upcoming game, Haze, on the fact of whether it was a PS3 exclusive or a PS3 timed-exclusive. It was previously announced that the game would be a timed-exclusive for the PS3 this holiday season, with versions for the Xbox 360 and PC coming out later on, but that fact seems to have changed. As of now, Haze will only be coming out on the PS3, as Ubisoft has announced that the game is not being developed for the other two platforms. Ubisoft has not ruled out the possibility of the game coming out on other platforms, but, for now, expect to be only picking Haze up on the PS3!

GT5 Prologue Screens are Almost as Shiny as a New Ferrari

gran-turismo-5-prologue-screens-20070829031747208.jpg

Four new GT5 Prologue Screens have just been released by IGN, and they look very good. The cars are almost photorealistic, and even the landscape itself looks very good. The driver view is very detailed, and may be the best driver view I have ever seen. Hit the link to see the rest of the screens, plus a few older ones as well.

Mario Galaxy Box Art is Final

A few weeks ago, when Mario Galaxy’s release date was announced for Europe, a box art picture was released, which, in my opinion was not very good. It was kind of awkward with Mario on his back and legs in the air, and it was not really scaled well. Mario seemed very small, and there was a lot of open space.

Now, the final box art has been released, at least for the US, and it looks much better. It is very colorful, and it looks like the game will appeal to Nintendo’s expected audience. The box shows Mario flying with planets and a black hole for good measure. In traditional Mario fashion, it does look cute. In my opinion, this is how box art for a game in this genre should be.

Stranglehold gets Delayed

Stranglehold, the very anticipated game from Midway, is being delayed by only 1 week for the 360 and PC. Midway has not released any details on why the game has been delayed, but it should arrive by September 5. The Playstation 3 version will be in stores at its expected release date, September 17. Its very odd that this is happening now, as the game should be finished by now, but they may be having some shipping issues, or they may have wanted to tighten the release gap between the two versions of the game. Hopefully this is the end of bad surprises coming from Midway about this game.

Bioshock Widescreen has been Screwed Up and is getting a Fix!

Bioshock forums have been alive with activity recently as people are pretty mad that our friends at 2k have screwed up widescreen. The game does not support widescreen natively. Widescreen in the game is basically the basic 4:3 display, but it is cut off at the top and bottom and slightly zoomed in. Native widescreen is supposed to be an extended version of 4:3. Because of this issue, many people have canceled their pre-orders until the issue is fixed. Well, 2k has just released a statement on this issue. They say that the standard definition is just an extension of high definition, and not the other way around. They claim that there is no issue with either standard or high definition display. This is slightly confusing, and I am not sure if I am totally believing this statement. Nonetheless, 2k is trying to release a patch so that players can change their settings and have a wonderful gaming experience no matter what. Check out the picture that shows the issue, and leave a comment on how you feel about this issue!

Manhunt Coming in Time to Trick or Treat

R* and Take-Two have been battling with the ESRB to change the rating of Manhunt 2 from an AO rating to a M rating. With the AO rating, the game would not be sold in most retail stores, and sales would suffer dramatically. Well, it looks like this game will finally come out into stores this Halloween after many months of tweaking and talks, as it just received the M rating. The game will come out for the Wii, PSP and PS2. Descriptors for the game are blood and gore, intense violence, strong language, strong sexual content, and use of drugs.

Midnight Club: LA finally has a Trailer!

Midnight Club: LA looks as if it will live up to all of the expectations that gamers are setting for the series. As a fan of the last three games in the series, this game looks like it will be very fun. Graphics are spot on, as it uses R*’s RAGE engine, and now the game is not limited to just night racing. The in-car view is a very nice addition to the basic gameplay, too. Check the trailer out below!

PGR 4 Comes Out with Bad News

medium_483188248_97f559224b_o.jpg

I hate it when things like this happen. One of the most anticipated racing games of this year has been delayed. PGR 4 has been pushed back from its original September 11 release date to an October 2 release date in America. In Europe, the released date is now October 12. Bizarre said that the game has been pushed back to put finishing touches on it and to make sure it is the best Project Gotham game to date. Let’s hope that this will be the best Project Gotham game for making us wait an extra month.
